Pickleball Booms in Calgary

The Oakridge Pickleball Club in southwest Calgary is growing so quickly now that a second time slot has been added to the spring program.

Calgary pickleball players are now invited to come and play with us every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Cedarbrae Community Centre which is located at 11024 Oakfield Dr SW.

This is an introductory program. Equipment is provided. No fees are required, but donations are accepted from those who wish to contribute.

Most of the players in this program have just learned or are just learning how to play. However, there are a half-dozen experienced pickleball players who are able to play competitively.

Players who want to learn to play pickleball for the first time are welcome. An instructor is on hand every week to teach new players the ropes. There is no charge for the lessons. On average, it takes about 20 minutes to learn how to play pickleball.

Most of the players in this group are over 50, but all ages are welcome. The balance of women to men is roughly equal, with a slight edge going to the women.
