Pickleball
The Oakridge Pickleball Club plays outdoors at Oakridge in the summer and indoors at the Cedarbrae Community Centre in the winter.
During the winter, we have three indoor courts with room for up to 24 players. During the summer, we have four outdoor courts with room for up to 32 players.
All ages and levels are welcome. New players are welcome. The core group of players includes all levels from beginner to advanced.
A professional organizer is present at each session to assign partners, organize the players into teams and explain the rules of the game.
Racquets and balls are provided to players who need them. Players should wear court shoes (indoor for winter and outdoor for summer) and bring water and a snack. Washrooms are available all year round. Change rooms are available only at Oakridge.

How hard is it to learn?
Most players pick this game up in less than 10 minutes. Badminton, squash, racquetball and tennis players learn more quickly.
How fit will I have to be?
The intensity of this sport is equivalent to doubles tennis. Most doubles players work up a sweat, but they rarely run out of breath. Singles pickleball is more intense and requires a higher level of fitness.
Do I have to come every week?
This is a drop-in program. Come as often as you can. Only a handful of participants are able to come every week.
