Why Play Here?
The 20 outdoor pickleball courts at Oakridge are the best in Canada. They are new and do not have cracks. In addition to being new they feature senior-friendly cushioned surfaces that are easier on the knees than regular hard surface tennis courts. Eight of the 20 pickleball courts at Oakridge have lights, making it possible to play well past sunset in late summer and early fall. In addition to these features, the courts at Oakridge are equipped with several rain squeegees and are properly sloped for quick drainage.
Clubhouse Facilities
Members at Oakridge have access to changerooms with lockers and showers. The building is staffed more than 95% of the time that pickleball activities are scheduled. The presence of staff ensures access to washrooms, telephones, ice, First Aid kits and an AED in the event of an emergency.
Help for Beginners
Pickleball players at Oakridge also have many opportunities to improve. In addition to a pickleball ball machine which is available for group practice times on Saturday mornings, the club’s certified instructors put on periodic pickeball instructional clinics at various times throughout the summer. These clinics are free and are open to members.
Tired of Line Ups?
The Oakridge Racquet Club has 20 pickleball courts. There is lots of room for everyone. No need to worry about showing up for pickleball and having to wait in line. If we need to make more courts available for pickleball programs, we can do that.
Amazing Price
This summer, the Oakridge Racquet Club is offering 142.5 hours of drop-in pickleball programming on Calgary’s best outdoor courts. For those who buy a Senior membership, this works out to just $0.88/hour. For those who buy an Single Adult membership, it works out to $1.40/hour. And for a family of four, the price is just $0.61/hour.
Additional Benefits
Oakridge offers both group drop-in programs and the option for members to book courts to play on their own. All members are welcome to attend all or some of the 142.5 hours of group drop-in programs which are organized by volunteers. Members can also reserve courts to play on their own at no extra charge. The is a great benefit for beginners who want to book courts to practice with other beginners and for advanced players who want to reserve courts and play only with advanced players. In other words, membership at Oakridge gives pickleball players the best of both worlds. They can play with a group. They can play with their friends. Or they can do both.
