After a snow-filled winter it’s time to get excited about getting out into our gardens. Join us for the annual Oakridge Plant Exchange to swap some of your great garden favourites for some new plant picks.
The plant exchange will be on Saturday June 4, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Oakridge Community Centre. The event is rain or shine – we’ll be inside in front of the preschool if it rains.
Exchanges will be honoured from 9 to 10 am, then purchases may be made for a minimal fee after all exchanges are honoured. Please ensure your plants are packed so they don’t make a mess, and label your plants with names (popsicle sticks work great!).

The Oakridge Community Centre is offering a free pickleball camp for kids (Grades 6 – 9) on Mondays through Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, starting June 6 until June 17.
The camp will be run by Kelly Van Vugt (Louis Riel School) and Brent Johner (Oakridge Community Centre). Both men are volunteering their time and will help teach the kids how to play singles pickleball.
Camp participants who attend all sessions will also be given FREE registration in the boys and girls U16 National Pickleball Championships at Oakridge this summer.

A free Calgary Spring skateboarding program for participants aged 6 – 16 is coming to Oakridge!
June 6 – 10 at the outdoor rink behind the Oakridge Community Centre, 9504 Oakfield Drive SW.
Program time: Monday – Friday from 3:00 – 6:00 pm.
A waiver needs to be signed by the participant’s parent/guardian before being able to participate in this program. A skateboard and helmet are also required. Waivers are available on-site. Extra boards and helmets may be available on a first come, first serve loan basis.
