Speed Badminton Comes to Oakridge
CALGARY, AB – The Oakridge Community Center is proud to be the first facility in Calgary to offer the exciting new sport of Speed Badminton. Played outdoors on a tennis court, this fast paced game is easy to learn and fun to play.
Programming for Speed Badminton will be handled by Racquet Network on Saturday afternoons beginning in April 2009. Two temporary courts will also be set up on the grass adjacent to the tennis courts so that people who want to can play while they are waiting to access the OCC’s busy tennis courts.
Racquet Network will provide racquets and birds (called speeders). Drop-in use on the grass courts adjacent to the tennis courts is free for all members with shoe tags. Speed Badminton programs are fee-based. Please see the SPEED BADMINTON page on this website for more information.
